Overview

HTML5, currently under development, is a standard for presenting and structuring content on the Internet. It is the next evolution of Hyper Text Markup Language (HTML), which forms the backbone of almost every site on the Internet.

Adobe Flash

Adobe’s Flash Player is a browser plug-in that can act as a standalone or with your default browser in order to play the flash multimedia files. All the playable flash files have an SWF extension. SWF file contains the ActionScripting, audio, image and video data, which are required to play the file and displays any interactive controls.

Joint Photographic Experts Group (JPEG) is without doubt the most popular and convenient image format used over the Internet presently, but the recent announcement of WebP standard by Google has threatened the JPEG dominance for transferring images over the Internet. One of the most striking features that WebP standard possesses is the reduced image compression without compromising on the quality.
